Emerald City Energy is a family of brands—Intermountain Windows and Doors and McLendon Home Services— that bring professional installation services across many home improvement product categories. Serving the grater Puget Sound area since 1997, we have a central vision to deliver quality products and services that will enhance your home for years to come. We are focused on ensuring professional installation so that it’s done right the first time. With all that we do, we are also committed to excellence in customer service.

The story of these brands began many years ago with a group of coworkers, Chris Shults, Don Clayton, Andy Wigen, and Taylor Judd, who learned all about the efficiency factor in homes during their time working for Washington Natural Gas (WNG). Their time at WNG enabled them to learn all the aspects of energy-efficiency, the tenets of quality products, and a commitment to providing value and education to homeowners.

In the 1990s, WNG was sold to Puget Sound Energy, so the group went onto other endeavors, one of which was the formation of Emerald City Energy by Chris, while Don launched Intermountain Glass.

Andy and Taylor started McLendon Home Services as a window and door installer for McLendon Hardware stores.

The four stayed close, helping each other out with jobs. Taylor and Andy as McLendon Home Services handled installation of windows and doors for Emerald City Energy, which focused on helping homeowners in South King and Pierce counties. Intermountain Glass operated mainly in North King and Snohomish counties.

In 2012, Chris sold Emerald City Energy to Andy and Taylor. In 2018, Don retired and sold Intermountain Glass to Taylor and Andy.

Now, all three companies are one with 35 employees and growing. We are fortunate to have a knowledgeable staff, with many having 15 years or more of window and door experience, including some of the best installers in the state. We are glad to now serve the entire Puget Sound Area. While we’ve grown much since our humble beginnings, we stay rooted in the values of offering quality products, installed the right way, for a fair price.
